About
What inspires me when creating art is the exploration into the levels of visual aesthetics, the subjective experience that feed from shape, color and line. The relationship between representation and abstraction, those endless levels that can be explored and formed together until its makeup draws you in or takes you somewhere faintly familiar. I try to work it until I get the impression of there being something more, nothing clear or concrete but more like the scratching of a surface, the awareness of a story. I like to draw with linier symbolic type marks and/or with a linier type of a sketched portrait overtop or within the abstract background, keeping these marks somewhat transparent, able to see through to its surroundings, providing a direct awareness of its environment. Not to show life as some type of destined or circumstantial portrayal, but more as a broad depiction of the correlation of random abstract possibilities and the complexities of choice that constantly circle.
In the last few years, I have drawn upon my visual art with writing my own personal impression that I find in it. These stories or thoughts are in the form of poetry. They are not written to guide the viewer on what the painting means, but just to share what it conveyed to me at the moment.
